Senior Product Manager Christina Buckles loves to learn. Born in the Southwest, she was curious from a young age about learning multiple languages, particularly Spanish. Beginning in middle school, Christina took Spanish classes and spent a semester of college abroad in Spain. She would go on to major in Spanish and Latin American studies in college. She holds three master’s degrees including Library and Information Science, Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Transnational Literature, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA.)
One of her first jobs with a pharmacy benefit consulting company showed her a broad view of how our industry works. “I was able to work with a lot of different Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) and clients,” Christina said. “It gave me the opportunity to work with different vendors and understand what options are out there.”
Christina also worked as a project manager at a PBM for a time, where she learned the inner workings of the industry. She worked closely with Information Technology teams which gave her a unique perspective on technical components in the healthcare field.
Her vast array of experience makes her a perfect fit for the RxBenefits product team. She and her team have been hard at work launching a new Patient Assistance solutions product designed to complement RxBenefits’ comprehensive suite of pharmacy solutions.
The alternative funding offerings can help reduce specialty drug costs for patients and plans. “We’ve identified two partners who facilitate the administrative process of accessing additional funding for members, which can decrease costs for our clients,” Christina said. “They’re part of our layered approach to managing the cost of specialty medications because there’s not a ‘silver bullet’ single solution.”
Teamwork has always been a central focus for Christina, who says she enjoys working with high-performance teams. “I love it when you have people who are open, have a good attitude, and are interested in learning something new,” Christina said. “My best experiences have been with teams where people are very collaborative, and the sum of the team is so much more than the number of people on it.”

When she’s not working on the latest industry products, Christina enjoys the arts and often can be found attending a theatrical production or watching an indie film. She continues to travel the world, including a previous trip to China where she visited cities throughout the country and a recent trip to Mexico.
